You know, here's the funny thing about digital distribution... it's amazingly hard to get any sort of up-to-date information about just how much you're selling through a given channel. Itunes, Amazon, whatever, it's all the same, basically I can't see squat in terms of sale details. Every 90 days or so, they report back the number of dollars sold during that period and CDBaby pays Vixy. So even if I knew how much Amazon was selling, the actual numbers via corn-syrup-currency would be entirely hidden from me.
I find this completely ironic. One of the greatest advantages of digital online sales is that kind of stuff *could* be made available to the artist with a minimum of fuss. Why don't they make it available?
CDBaby, for their part, does it right. I can get instant details of every sale made from their web site, either digital or physical.
